(1/21/2020) – InterDent Service Corporation, a dental service organization which provides business support services to over 185 full-service dental provider locations across eight states, has partnered with charitable organizations near its corporate offices in Inglewood, CA and Vancouver, WA, as well as near its affiliate, Capitol Dental Care, in Salem, OR.
InterDent has a proud tradition of supporting communities throughout the western United States through its affiliated practices under the brands Gentle Dental®, SmileKeepers, and Blue Oak® Dental. The company is enhancing its program to give back to the communities it serves by entering into ongoing partnerships with and making contributions to the following local non-profit charitable organizations:
InterDent is teaming with the Oregon Community Foundation’s Children’s Dental Health Initiative to support oral health services to underserved kids. The Oregon Community Foundation has worked to improve the lives of all Oregonians since 1973 through research, advocacy, grant-making and community-advised solutions. By partnering with the Children’s Dental Health Initiative, InterDent is helping to alleviate childhood dental disease throughout Oregon, a state with one of the country’s highest rates of chronic childhood dental disease. InterDent’s contributions also will benefit the welfare of the children as a whole, as dental pain caused by tooth decay is one of the main reasons elementary students miss school, directly impacting their academic achievement and path to success.
InterDent is proud to partner with the USC Dental Clinic at the Union Rescue Mission (URM), an organization located on skid row in downtown Los Angeles which provides a broad range of charitable services to the disadvantaged, including the homeless. The University of Southern California School of Dentistry opened a clinic at URM in 1999 to assist underprivileged men, women and children experiencing dental problems such as persistent pain, tooth loss, and gum disease. Faculty, students, and interns from the USC School of Dentistry coordinate all patient services. The six-chair Dental Clinic provides comprehensive care completely free of charge and conducts more than 5,000 dental-care visits per year. The Dental Clinic is available to all the neighboring shelters and programs serving underprivileged people in the downtown Los Angeles area and offers cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, root canals, and dentures.
Northwest Association for Blind Athletes
InterDent is supporting the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, which works to enrich the lives of the visually impaired and blind through sports and physical activities, allowing such individuals to gain the skills, tools and resources they need to achieve success. InterDent’s contributions will assist the association with its mission to provide the visually impaired with ongoing programs, adaptive equipment, scholarships and other assistive services throughout several area communities.
